    Position Description: University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont’s academic medical center and founding member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks a Revenue Cycle Systems Educator.

    Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Systems Educator provides training and educational support to staff and leaders within Revenue Cycle and clinical support departments. The Educator serves as a resource to staff and leadership for issue resolution related to operational workflows and technical/systems challenges. The Educator will provide education and training for multiple systems and platforms across the organization. This includes but is not limited to formal classroom training, informal sessions, site based assessments, on site and remedial training and one on one end user training as needed.

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education or a healthcare-related field preferred. Twelve or more years of experience in a leadership and/or educator position in a healthcare environment may be accepted in lieu of the degree. A minimum of one-year computer systems training experience in a health care setting preferred. CHAA or CPAT certification required within one year of hire.

    Experience: Demonstrated experience and subject matter expert across revenue cycle operations. GE Centricity financial suite of applications experience preferred. At least three years’ experience within revenue cycle healthcare operations required. Proven expertise in technical training, motivating staff and development of course curriculum and presentations. Project management experience desirable. Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel both verbally and in written mediums.

    Position Description: The Financial Analyst prepares and analyzes financial data for all entities of the Elliot Health System. Presents information in a format that will be clear and understandable to financial and non-financial managers. Provides assistance to department managers in understanding and utilizing financial information. Assists in development of financial models using ENUFF software. Prepares information for annual tax returns and fiscal surveys. Participates in the development of annual operating and capital budgets throughout EHS. Acts as backup support for biweekly FTE reporting.


    Assists in maintenance of decision support systems. Assists in development of statistics and other reports on a monthly basis. Assists Director of Financial Development with special projects.

    Qualifications: Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree preferred. Two to three years accounting experience. Health care experience preferred. Experience with decision support system desirable.

    Position Description: The Senior Accountant – Decision Support prepares and analyzes financial data relating to Elliot Health System operations and budgets. Supports the development and use of several decision support systems (Trendstar data management, budgeting and planning) software through data input, maintenance, analysis and development. Prepares and analyzes information and presents results in a format that will be clear and understandable to financial and non-financial managers. Provides assistance to hospital department management in understanding and utilizing financial information.


    Participates in preparing and analyzing annual operating and capital budgets throughout Elliot Health System. Participates in preparing monthly reporting and analysis of financial information. Develops statistics and other reports on a monthly basis. Provides backup assistance for development of cost allocations for Elliot Hospital and Elliot 1 Day Surgery. Provides assistance in areas of new program financial analysis and project assignment. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: Bachelors Degree required. Two to three years accounting or financial analysis experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Experience with decision support, budgeting and business planning systems preferred.

    Position Description: The Certified Coder reports directly to the Director, Patient Financial Services and is primarily responsible for the assignment of ICD and CPT codes for professional billing, based on provider documentation. Responsible for professional fee coding of inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services documented in the hospital and clinic electronic medical record. Performs coding and abstraction while maintaining a high level of productivity with at least a 95% accuracy rate. Identifies revenue opportunities and ensures documentation compliance. Works closely with departments and providers to optimize reimbursement, ensure charge capture, and improve documentation.

    May provide applicable training/education to the providers, management, and staff concerning coding principles, governmental regulations, and third-party billing requirements to assure compliance with the rules and regulations. May serve as a resource to the organization and network for codin g and compliance as it relates to professional fee billing.

    Qualifications:
    Viable candidates must have an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology, or related trade school experience including courses in ICD10CM and CPT coding, advanced medical terminology and Anatomy and Physiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CCS-P or CPC is required. AHIMA course certifications, Accredited Registered Health Information Technician (R.H.I.T.), or Registered Health Information Administrator (R.H.I.A.), or RHIT/RHIA eligible welcome to apply. Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of ICD10 and CPT coding conventions, as applicable to professional billing. Knowledge of eCW and Paragon helpful but not required.
